The President of India Pranab Mukherjee on 24 August 2014 inaugurated the 6th Edition of Kamada Kinkar Mukherjee Rural Football Tournament at Raghunathganj in Murshidabad district, West Bengal.
The President witnessed the exhibition match between Eastern Railway Sport Club and Bhawanipur Club. He was introduced to the players of both the teams and he gave away prizes.

About Kamada Kinkar Mukherjee
Kamada Kinkar Mukherjee was the freedom fighter. He was active in the Indian independence movement and was a member of West Bengal Legislative Council between 1952 and 1964 as a representative of the Indian National Congress and was the member of AICC.
He was the father of President Pranab Mukherjee.
KKM Rural Football Tournament
The name of the tournament was named after the Kamada Kinkar Mukherjee.
240 clubs of Murshidabad district and 16 clubs of adjoining Nalhati in Birbhum district have taken part in this tournament.
