Thailand's king Bhumibol Adulyade endorsed General Prayuth Chan-ocha as PM

Thailand's king Bhumibol Adulyade on 25 August 2014 formally endorsed its military coup leader General Prayuth Chan-ocha as the Prime Minister of Thailand. General Prayuth was elected as Prime Minister military-dominated National Legislative Assembly.
Gen. Prayuth was endorsed in a royal endorsement ceremony held at the army's headquarters in Bangkok. During the ceremony, he asked the public to work with the authorities to restore democracy and said that he would work with honesty and for the benefit of people and the nation and wants to free Thailand from a vicious cycle of political instability.
About General Prayuth Chan-ocha
General Prayuth Chan-ocha began his military career in the prestigious Queen's Guard unit, later raised to become a commander in the King's Guard.
He took over as head of army in October 2010.
He is seen as a staunch royalist and has favored a tough stance on the "red shirts" who support former PMs Thaksin Shinawatra and his sister Yingluck.
He is due to retire from the army in September 2014.
General Prayuth, 60, was a key figure in the 2006 coup that ousted Yingluck's brother, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
